Former mentee Talia Blunt surprised the mentors when she chose to attend our mentoring session on May 4th. Talia is a junior at Hampton University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. While in attendance, she shared some words of wisdom with our current juniors and seniors about finishing strong in high school and preparing for college and campus life. Talia is taking full advantage of her college experience as you will see in the list of volunteer activities she is currently involved in:

Member of the following organizations:

  • Student Receuitment Team (provide tours for guests on campus)
  • Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology
  • Beta Kappa Chi National Scientific Honor Society
  • Peer Counselors Organization (student listeners for other students who need someone to talk to; “friends of the campus”)
  • Psychology Club
  • Black Girls Do STEM

Training gained while in school:

  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Maintained Dean’s List for 5 semesters (since freshman year)
