McKinley L. Price, Mayor of the City of Newport News, presented Clinton Hammett, CEO with the Colonial Virginia Council, Boy Scouts of America, with a Proclamation proclaiming the weekend of November 4-6, 2022 as Colonial Virginia Council Scout Weekend. The City of Newport News applauded the Commitment and Active Role Scouting has made to support the leadership and development of Americas youth. Oct 8, 2022 marked the 30th Anniversary of the Colonial Virginia Council.

Both Mayor Price and Clinton Hammett are proud members of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc and look forward to providing long-term mentor relationships for multiple stages of life that expand the possibilities of what all youth can achieve.
