The Mentees, Parents in Action and Members of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter participated in a safe protest/memorial to acknowledge the tragic events that have occurred over the past weeks. The protest began at 8:46 a.m. to honor the life of George Floyd. Many of the mentees created signage representing the lives that were killed in police involved incidents. Many signs were displayed supporting Black Lives Matter. Multiple speakers addressed the crowd with speeches to enlighten and encourage the continuance of the movement.
