In October 2013, members of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter Community Relations Committee, teamed up with the City of Newport News Public Works and received training to participate in the City’s Adopt-A-Spot Program.
The Chapter adopted the following sites:
Magruder Elementary School, Marshall Elementary School and the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center. The Chapter picks up trash around these locations quarterly. Several bags of trash were collected during our first clean-up of the new year. We offer a special thanks to members Kenneth Rich, Joseph Hayes and Wayne Edwards for their guidance of this project.
